A morning moment

It was 5 pull ups, 10 wall balls, 15 kettle bell swings. As many rounds as possible over a 20 minute time frame. Crossfit at its most basic and challenging. 9 rounds later there was about 20 seconds left. 20 seconds. Everything is relative. 20 seconds is so little a moment in time. Yet 20 seconds of part of one more round was an eternity. With 5 pull ups done there was 4 seconds left. After one wall ball it was over and we were done.

There were bodies spread out all over the gym floor. We were soaked from head to toe. I grabbed my water bottle that was filled with chia seeds and took a serious gulp. I had known about chia seeds for a long time but it was after reading the book Born to Run that I started making the chia drinks. It was just what I needed.

So there was nothing fancy about this at all. Just effort all the way and a drink that has been around for probably hundreds of years. I realized that life doesn’t need fancy , new or ” the latest”. It just needs you to show up and participate as if you and the seconds counted.

Crossfit and chia seeds. What a great morning combination. Tried and true. Works all the time.
