Digging deep and spreading kindness

As the year winds down, I look back on 2012. What a year of change. Quite amazing how it played out. It didn’t start that way. But it sure is ending that way. Change. It just can’t be denied or avoided. It is a good thing. It prevents us from just phoning in our life story. It requires a true commitment to our life. To handle the curves, fastballs, tight corners and open freeways.

The year has truly tested our commitment to ageless living. Crossfit was a big part of that. Pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zone. Digging deep. Smiling at the honest effort. Not letting others definitions of us stop us from defining ourselves.

As the new year approaches I was thinking about what I hope it will be for us all. Sandy Hook was awake up call to the value of one day. The value of one moment in time. The value of one hug, caress, gentle tug on a sleeve to wait up for those that need to be waited up for. So  my wish for us all is that the new year treats us with kindness. That we spread a feeling of kindness wherever we go. For one whole year, can we stop trying so hard to be right and just try a littler harder to listen, reflect and show kindness to those around us…whether they reciprocate or not. It is our mission.

Let me know your new years mission statement. Create your own 2013 mission statement. Thank you for your participation in this ageless experiment. Let’s keep it going.
