March1: The expension bridge was right out of Indiana Jones. It was wood slats, some missing and some loose, rope as the connecting part and and the part you hold to balance yourself was rope also.
The center of the bridge dips down and the section that attaches to each cliff is steep at the very last moment.
We didn't see it until we turned a narrow corner on the trek. But then there it was.
I stepped back and snapped the picture.
When a friend looks at the picture they need to really look because it looks like mountains only until you see something hanging between two mountain peaks.
I go back in time to remember the first crossing. It is not easy to forget. The bridge shook, shaked, rattled, bounced and convulsed under our weight.
In the middle of it we stopped to look down. 12,000 feet straight down. Then we reached the other side and managed the steep part.
Some times that is where you find yourself. In the center of the shaking, bouncing, convulsing moment of the day and the steep part is still waiting for you.
I think back to the bridge. I look at the picture and remember it so clearly.
In the middle of the challenging moment stay centered, focused, balanced knowing you will make it through and even complete the last steep part.
In fact, on the way back, we looked forward to crossing the bridge one more time. The center of that bridge is timeless and ageless. You standing there..in between the mountains, suspended in space and time, are ageless too. At that moment you are one with the void.
