The dragonfly and the journey of the ageless. The dragonfly has always fascinated me. The transparent wings. The long slender body. The ability to hover in slience. The beautiful face with an otherworldly look. Harmless, lovely,fragile and mystical.
Some believe it carries the spirits of the deceased to the other side. Whenever I see a dragonfly I reflect on the journey and the appreciation of the moment since the dragonfly's life is a short one. In the scheme of the universe no matter how long we live,it is short. That being the case what would a pattern following the dragonfly feel like. Observing, hovering, being transparent, appreciating the moment and the simplicity of it all.
Why do we seem to complicate things so. Why does it appear that some have gotten so small and argue over the tiniest flaw. The dragonfly would observe and dart off in its mysterious way.It seems to me to be the ultimate zen creature.
Next time you see a dragonfly try to recognize it for what it is….the soul of the passing through….the ageless experiment.
