7 years ago. 13 days from today. For all of us there are certain moments, days, dates, events that are a game changer.For us it was June 19, 2003. 7 years ago. 13 days from today. As I get into the month of June almost each day has a special meaning. Births, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, Father's day, but then ,for us, there is June 19th.
It was a sort of birthday/anniversary moment to us all. It was the flight to Pittsburgh on the 18th. It was the ritual of the night before. It was the morning drive over to the hospital. It was the prep for the surgery. It was the specialists bringing their gifts to bear. It was the waiting. The delicate procedure. Waking up in neurological ICU and seeing my family and the doctor waiting..
It was a rebirth. A week of recuperating in Pittsburgh and then home to rest before we all got back into the mix of life again.
A rebirth. Every day is a good day. Every day is a gift. Every day is a 100%. Every day we do not take anything for granted. Every day we laugh louder, live with passion and hold each other completely.
We all have these moments. The game changer. The moment the pattern is snapped. The second the cloud lifts The light shines through and you just know. You sense the moment of grace and you are eternally grateful for it.
