It unravels so quickly.If you don't pay close attention and nurture it it unravels.Yet so often we think it is perpetual and the sense of entitlement will blind us to the truth of the frailty of it all.
Whether a friendship, marriage,business, or really any endeavor worth maintaining it must be consciously cared for. It can't be taken for granted.
And yet that is what happens so often. The nonsense gets in the way of the meaningful. The false urgent crisis of the moment overshadows the important moments in life. The missed school play, the family outing ignored,the connecting tissue of a business that needs mending but is forsaken for some temporary, soon forgotten pseudo achievement.
Choose wisely. The flight leaves soon. The schedule had to be rearranged. Had to. We realized that the preschool graduation was a place we did not want to not be at. A passing comment was made. Flying out for a 5 year old's graduation from preschool. Flying out for the birthday party of a 2 year old..are you serious. Indeed. Very serious. Choose wisely. Live fully involved with those who matter. That is all that matters.Choices. How does an organization survive. Involvement on a level of care that is meaningful and present. Substance over form.
