The loss at the Gate:
All Gates hold a certain loss for us all. Whether it is a successful event or not, by passing through the Gate there is a loss. A loss of that challenge, experience,event,excitement and fear.Ageism is a discrimination. Any discrimination makes you feel less. Sexism,racism,ageism are all an effort to make someone feel less. How do others feel about this journey.
A friend recently told me that he began to realize that the great successes and good things in life will come to an end. He said there is a cruelty to that.The endgame comes into focus. He said he felt like he was in the final quarter of the big game. Even though he felt ahead by 2 touchdowns and wanted to savor the sweetness of it all and appreciate the last quarter he now had to live even more deliberately and not miss a moment. There were no moments to toss aside as the young so often do. Some are so carefree about time. But time becomes so precious in the last quarter. So he decided to let go of the old gudges, the old nonsense and live in a state of grace.
The loss becomes the ultimate gain….but you must let go. You must see the beauty of the now.
