The unassuming leader

His mind was made for things other than what he did. He was creative. He was witty. He was very smart…not just books but life smart.
Yet, life had thrown him a curve ball. Between the depression and illnesses, he settled into the routine of 9-5 work at a factory type setting. Important work but not what he was created to do. Life is like thst sometimes. So he read, sat and reflected and left a legacy of being more than the sum of the parts.
He taught me to love venturing into the unknown. He taught me to face down the challenge. He taught me to see the light in the dark moments.
He was a leader without appearing so. He was a hero in seeking the uniqueness of each moment.
In the evening he learned to paint, develop film, create artwork from what appeared to be left over junk. He was not a famous man. He was a man of substance. He mattered but he never realized he did.
He loved poetry. Especially “If”. Find that poem and let it settle in.
Thank you for the life lessons.
