Acting without expectation always has been the challenge. It is important to have positive goals but acting with a set expectation of how the effort will turn out is a dangerous play.
Once you are acting with expectations it colors the effort. You can only present your best when you are focused on the now and not some prize or reward as a result of the action.
You are doing what you are doing because you believe it is the right thing to do in an honorable fashion and it is your true nature. And then you let go.
It is the not letting go that creates the knots. Carrying those knots becomes a heavy burden indeed.
So act honorable, present yourself well and then let go.
