Shedding the moment in the moment

I read the book when it first came out. It captured me completely. But then I watched the movie. I never thought anyone could film this story but there it was.  Wonderful. Recaptures you as the book first did. It got me thinking about so many things. Storytelling in a grand way. Our personal storytelling. Religion. Spirituality. The will to survive. Our relationship with nature. Our relationship with GOD.  But also our personal and universal journey. Of course it is …The Life of Pi.

It is the letting go that resonated with me. It seems that we are in the constant state and stages of letting go. Of shedding our latest skin so to speak and constantly morphing into both something new and different. From the moment we are born we let go of our mother. The warmth of that connected world. From there we are always letting go. Of childhood, school, parents, loves, friendships, jobs, homes, time, innocence, and the list of life experiences goes on and on.

We are constantly letting go. Until we let go of this current life experience itself. You would think by then we would be used to it but each letting go is both filled with sadness and anticipation. I realize that the ageless experiment is trying to remove superimposed restrictions on an already ever changing ,morphing and letting go life experience. But by being involved in the letting go we become sensitive to the moment in time and the reality that we are letting go of that time forever.  So we feel it to our core. We better understand that each stage in this improbable journey must be cherished. Because the morphing is happening at the very moment we are living it.

So today, on Christmas, 2012, hold on to the experiences of the day. The letting go is already occurring.  It makes me be grateful for it all.
