Embracing uncertainty

So the boxes are boxed. The sale is done. The friends are dropping by and we are giving them memories to take with them. The charities are coming over the next few days to take items. The movers drop by tomorrow. As each person walked through our home they commented on the warmth and good feelings.

That is all the result of “she”. You know “she”. The strength . The calm. The quiet dignity. The beauty of the connection between today, yesterday and tomorrow. The connecting tissue that links a family to each other and to a place.  The home feels like it is sighing.  I hear it saying “do you have to leave”. But it is time. So the rooms are now empty.  The space is getting ready for the next chapter.

And so are we. We are getting ready for the next chapter. What does the chapter hold in store for any of us. The only thing I know for certain is that  we must adapt to change. We must flow with the times. We are not stone figures in a garden. We can’t stop time but we can appreciate it, respect it, nod at it, wink at it and know that the only thing certain is uncertainty. I embrace uncertainty. It is foolish to do otherwise.
