She always use to say that when it was tight for others it was just right for us. The tight spot was where you would find yourself from time to time and if you were not "right" with it, getting through the easy parts made no matter. It is dealing with the tight spots that defines the whole journey. And so with each surgery, with each latest experimental procedure she would literally smile and say that it was just another tight spot to navigate through. Quite a person indeed. She taught us humor in the face of mighty challenges and laughter when tears would do for others. Near the end we talked about making sure we were all used up by the end. The length of a life was not as important to her as the life packed into whatever length there was. Some seem to wait as if some magical day will arrive when they can live loud and large, She chose it daily. I think about her all the time, but especially when I hear someone say it is going to be a tight fit coming up. Next time when you are facing a difficult moment, smile and say it is just right and get on with it. An ageless experiment.
