It always fascinates me that the young want to be older and the old want to be younger. Maybe that is just the nature of the human condition. Contentment of “what is” seems to be a lost art. I truly only saw contentment when I was in the Himalayas and chatted with villagers in Namche. Yet, what would it feel like to appreciate the uniqueness of each age that we travel through. Each stage has its own qualities and gifts.
As I now am getting closer to a stage that seems mind numbing to me and I want to reflect for all of us on the qualities and appreciation of this moment in our lives.
The wisdom that time has provided to us. The beauty of the discerning eye. The majesty of years of life and the lessons learned. The realisation that the time is finite and that never before who we spend our time with and what we do with our time really matters more than ever.
So don’t wish for something different. Embrace who you are right now. You are a gift to those who want to “unwrap” you and share your vision.
Age is an illusion. Time is a trickster. You are real.
