We looked around moving slowly from room to room.
First upstairs.
Then down. Then each closet.
Each dresser draw.
Each cushion was turned and examined.
Then the garage.
I don't know how other folks say good bye.
We did by searching for anything that may have been left behind.
What is a life anyway.
When you wander the corridors of your mind what exactly are you searching for in each doorway, down each hallway, in each room.
As we said good bye to this chapter in our life I wondered about how fast it went.
Moved in…then time races…then move on.
Such is a life.
We moved into our skin…time races…then move on.
I got on the motorcycle.
Gave one more look to the island home, turned the throttle, felt the Harley kick into first and rolled past yesterday into tomorrow.
The ageless experiment.
