For some reason it took me a week to look at the helmet.
As I ran my fingers over the hole in the left side of it I thought back to the fall.
Yes, the shoulder is still separated but it could have been so much worse.
The lessons are so many but here goes:
Even in the driveway, as soon as you get on the bike, put the helmet on.
Every moment is critical.
One split second and it would have been a shoulder and, without the helmet…only the fates know.
So lessons.
Life is expecting the unexpected.
Dress for what you are doing. Motorcycles it includes helmets, gloves and biker jacket.
As we drove across the alley today I saw bikers in tee shirts and no helmets.
I thought of the fall and the escaping of the hole in the head verses the hole in the helmet.
There are lessons in all moments.
Some times the most important lessons come from the most dangerous moments avoided.
You have those moments? You have those lessons?
It took a week to look at the helmet.
I need to send Shark helmets a thank you note.
The ageless experiment.
