As she slowly fades into history you think back on the events of a life. There is a sadness to all the missed moments and the lost chances. At the time choices were made. At the time the choices seemed oh so critical and worthy yet now, reflecting back, they were so narrow in scope, so small in gesture, so shallow in purpose.
But then again maybe that's all she had. Maybe her shallow was her depth. Her narrow was as wide as she could stretch. Her small was the biggest she had in her.
As her image slowly vanishes from the screen of a life, maybe we have to sit back down and recognize that reality. Each story is as large or as small as there is the capacity to tell it and we have to accept it as it lays.
We have no other right.
So tomorrow when you are about to judge, expect, demand or critique the capacity…even in yourself…lighten up and see the individual moment and journey and accept the life for what it is and not what you think it could have been.
Everyone is just trying to figure it out and find their piece of peace.
She just had so much to work with. Life is that way sometimes.
An ageless experiment indeed.
