The ride over was uneventful. The storms stayed in the distance.
Everyone else was someplace else.
The island was in a very sleepy state. The house was happy to see the lone visitor.
The Triumph Scrambler enjoyed the brief ride over the sandy back roads.
But as I settled in for a quiet, still evening my eyes caught the book that changed so much for me so many years ago. I remember when I bought it. I even remember where I bought it….Manhattan Beach, Ca.
So I took it off the shelf and saw the pages I had earmarked so long ago. A few pages even had a double earmark.
It was a weekend to journey with Alan Watts' The Book.
I remembered why I earmarked those pages.
An ageless experiment.
