The word of the day. They decided to start a new tradition. Each morning they would each pick a word. One word. But it had to be a positive one. No negative word or dark word.
The word that was chosen each day was to be that day's mantra.
They each wrote their word down on a small piece of paper, looked at it, made it real and then began the day.
Over time they collected the pieces of paper and put them in an envelop.
Recently they took that envelop out and placed the pieces of paper on the table. Each had a date and a word on it.
It so clearly explained the philosophy and purpose of their lives to themselves, each other and was a clue to their constant upbeat way of living each day.
A few words were repeated over and over again. Some were isolated words. But each told a story.
Some of the words repeated over and over were: grace, grateful, hope, peace, kindness, calm, decent, faith. It was quite a long list over the years that this tradtion played out.
A mantra.
A philosophy.
A purpose.
Not just spending a day being busy but spending moments of your life that are meaningful and positive..
An ageless experiment.
